Why Adopt from Mike's Dog House?
Because we've got the best dogs on the planet!
Okay, we're a little biased, but our dogs are really unique! Why? Because our shelter is unique in that we only accept good, adoptable dogs. In fact, ALL of our dogs are:
Temperament Tested. Every dog is temperament tested over a period of two weeks before it is released for adoption. During this time we evaluate aspects of the dog's personality such as friendliness, stability, aggression, and shyness. This ensures that all of our animals are uniquely sound and loving - truly the "canine cream of the crop". You will know right away how your dog interacts with the world around him.
Highly Socialized. During their stay with us, our dogs receive lots of one-on-one time with people. They are walked, petted, and played with several times a day just as they would be in a home environment. They become part of our family until they become part of yours.
Fully Vetted. Upon admission to Mike's Dog House, every dog is spayed or neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, and tested for heartworms. Each dog receives any needed medical treatment and is completely healthy before being made available for adoption. All you have to do is love him!
Matched to Your Home Environment. Because we take the time to get to know each dog that comes through our doors, we think it's important to know a little bit about you, too. We ask lots of questions and get a feel for the personalities of the people who will be living in the home, what their lifestyle is like, and what they hope to find in a canine companion. It's a little like a matchmaking service, and it really works. We have brought hundreds of dogs into happy homes all over the USA.
The best reason of all....
.....to adopt from Mike's Dog House is because you (YOU!) can save someone's life. Our animal shelter can only provide a temporary home for otherwise homeless animals. We do not have a huge facility for our dogs, and when we run out of room we have to turn others away. More often than not, this is an absolute DEATH SENTENCE for them. Sadly, this happens A LOT.
When you adopt a dog from our shelter you are saving not only that dog's life, but the life of the dog who comes behind him!
